Child Abuse awareness in the vicinities of Rawalpindi
The Private Schools project conducted was aimed to create awareness about child abuse among underprivileged school children in the vicinity of Adiala Road, Rawalpindi. Children were educated about good and bad touch through interactive sessions and shown videos. The project addressed the issue of underreported child abuse in Pakistan, especially among vulnerable children. Around 1000 students from Montessori and middle schools were trained during the week-long initiative in February 2019. The project was conducted in three schools, namely Askari Public School, Anaya Public School, and Saeed Public School. Ms. Faraiba Ahmad, a trainer from Iqra University, Islamabad, conducted the sessions. Ms. Sadia Nawaz and Ms. Faraiba Ahmad served as the project coordinators. By educating school children about child abuse, the project aimed to create a safer environment for the future of the community.
